Jean Rhodes is the Frank L. Boyden Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring. She is the most cited researcher in the field of youth mentoring and her work has shaped how programs design, implement, and evaluate their services.
Dr. Rhodes is a co-author of both the 3rd and 4th editions of the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring, the global standard for quality youth mentoring programs. Her award-winning book, Older and Wiser: New Ideas for Youth Mentoring in the 21st Century (Harvard University Press), synthesizes decades of research on mentoring effectiveness and makes the case for the just-in-time, evidence-based training that MentorPRO Academy provides. When mentors, staff, and mentees complete MentorPRO Academy courses, they earn certificates co-branded by their program and the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Those certificates can be posted directly to LinkedIn — turning every completed module into a visible, verifiable professional credential.
