Life gets hectic and it would be easy to forget about your values and what you’ve learned in this course. It takes effort to remind yourself of your values and the future you have in mind for yourself. This video has suggestions that will make it easier for you to remember your values and why they are important to you.

In college, you’re going to have to make lots of decisions. Many will be easy for you to make. But, for those more difficult questions, turn to your values to help you find your path. Allow yourself to move towards your true north.

To wrap up this lesson, take a moment to make a note of your most important values. Put them somewhere in plain sight so you’ll see them regularly and check in with yourself. You can come back to the question – am I living in line with my values?

Consider:

  • Creating a note on your phone that lists your values. Regularly look at it to remind yourself what’s important to you.
  • Writing your values on a sticky note and putting it on your mirror in your room.
  • Writing your values down in your planner so that you can be reminded of what’s important to you.

You may also want to talk about your values with someone you trust: a coach, mentor, therapist, friend, religious leader – anyone! Talking about your values will help you explore how you feel about them.

Over the next week, take time to reflect on your true north.
